Asus, one of the leading IT companies today, has recently introduced its latest communication device called AiGuru SV1 which is a video phone that features interactive technology that will change the way people communicate.
One of the main features of this video phone is the Skype call support that will allow people to save money from their telephone bill as this service is for free when a person calls another Skype user (meanwhile, there is a charge fee if he will call to a cell phone or landline). Because this device can fully support Skype service, consumers are no longer required to buy added software and accessories or to use another computer.
Another notable feature is the rotating 7-inch TFT-LCD screen display (800 X 480 pixels) which allows users to see the person they are calling. This feature is complemented with a built-in camera, microphone, and speaker which are designed to provide more interactive audio-visual communication tools.
To support more interactive video conferencing, AiGuru SV1 has been designed with Wi-Fi Technology that will provide fast and wireless digital transfer.
In terms of ergonomic design, this communication device is portable because of cable-free rechargeable battery pack. Meanwhile, the physical size of AiGuru SV1 which is 202 mm (L) x 123 mm (W) x 253 mm (H) and weighs approximately 1.6 kg also makes this device transferable.
Other features are: wireless rechargeable battery system for extreme portability; multiple I/O connectors including DC jack, battery connector, 3.5 mm headphone jack and microphone jack, RJ-45 connector, and USB type A connector; and interactive interface for easy usage.
When tested, the video phone can receive wireless signal up to 50 m, meanwhile, the transmission distance may change depending on the strength of the connection.
This is how to use the video phone: connect to a broadband either through a Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable and then sign in to Skype service. After doing this, people can start making video calls anywhere around the world.
