As a business laptop, ASUS B80A boasts features suited for any professional especially its 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 chipset and 2GB RAM that will allow users to maximize their work output. Aside from its fast processing capability, the notebook is relatively lighter (around 5.3 lbs) compared to other models.
One of the most notable features about this laptop is the port options which include VGA-out, HDMI-out, eSATA, FireWire, and three USB ports, in addition to an 8-in-1 card reader.
When it comes to connectivity, the business computer offers a great selection for this including the standard 802.11n Wi-Fi Technology, Bluetooth 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and Intel Wireless Link 5100. However, it lacks 3G connectivity which is commonly available in most notebooks and netbooks.
As a business notebook, security features are probably one of the most important considerations for users. Fortunately, the B80A has finger reader that prevents unauthorized access to sensitive data stored in the computer.
Because this mobile computer was designed for business use, consumers should not expect features like discrete graphics card that supports high-end and high-resolution video games. However, the device at least uses an integrated graphics chipset which can support “acceptable” movie quality (the computer comes with a built-in DVD drive).
Another downside is the lack of photo and video editing features, especially 3D capability which is a technology that is very common in most high-end laptops. This is blamed for the computer’s lack of discrete graphics chip.
When it comes to picture quality, the 14.1-inch display projects “acceptable” image quality—this means that users should not expect well-detailed and high-resolution photos and videos.
In terms of reliability, B80A may be considered outstanding especially with its spill-proof keyboard which is protected from up to 50 cc of liquid. Another good thing about the keyboard is that it uses LED lighting that makes it easy for users to type even in a dark room.
Meanwhile, the laptop’s battery system is relatively long and reliable as it can last approximately four hours of continuous use.
