ASUS Eee PC 1201N is a 12-inch netbook that features ultra-portability while delivering impressive features including a high-resolution screen display which is ideal for users who want to watch videos or play 3D games.
While this netbook, which is priced at $600, is more expensive compared to other models, at least it provides a convenient viewing screen that makes this portable computer ideal for business professionals.
And because of its high-resolution screen, users will spend less time scrolling while doing web searches and enjoying clear images.
Another notable about the LCD display is its high-sensitivity to viewing angles that will allow users to see clear images even if they are positioned on the side of the computer. With this feature, users will not have to adjust the screen or stay in the same position just to achieve the right viewing angle.
In addition, the computer has a spacious keyboard which is quite rare for netbook models especially those measuring 10-inch.
When it comes to port configuration, 1201N is just like any typical models in the market: it has three USB ports, VGA analog graphics connector, and HDMI digital video port, in addition to ethernet jack and multi-format flash memory reader.
To allow users to set the sound or the equalization adjustment, the netbook uses SRS audio complemented with Realtek HD audio suite. However, such features do not provide outstanding audio quality, but at least the result is an acceptable one. (On the other hand, the audio quality may be increased by using headphones.)
Unlike most netbooks which use Windows 7 Starter Edition or Windows XP Home Premium, 1201N comes with Windows 7 Home Premium which allows users to customize their choices of applications.
However, one major downside of this netbook is that it only supports up to 2GB memory which may limit its usefulness.
The price of this netbook is also a deal-breaker for most consumers since there are other cheaper models which have relatively the same features as this ASUS portable computer.
