Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronics ranging from computers to digital entertainments, has introduced its latest product called MediaSmart TV which is the first of its kind to use integrated technology that allows computer features to function on television.
Featuring the latest innovation called Windows Media Center Extender, the television can access various computer functions and online content. Users can also record live television programs. The television allows users to download movies from CinemaNow which provides shows from Warner Bothers, Disney, and MGM. Renting movies is also made easy via HP MediaSmart remote control.
The MediaSmart TV comes in two designs, 42- and 47-inch model which both feature HP’s 1080p Visual Fidelity Engine that provides crystal-clear image, 3D color enrichment, photorealistic content, and high-resolution pictures with 6ms response time. These two models are equipped with two high-performing speakers which feature HP Virtual Surround system for clean and high-quality sound.
The televisions also feature three HDMI connections and A/V input connections; integrated a, b, g, and 802.11 wireless networking; built-in wired Ethernet; and 176° ultra-wide viewing angle. The MediaSmart TVs are designed to support image format including JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and PNG. For video files, these can support MPEG, WMV, XVID, DivX, AVI, and, DVR-MS format.
The television provides a home theater solution which features “easy to use” navigation system where users can save the digital content which will then be automatically arranged by the appliance to allow easy navigation. The television also comes with a remote control.
Using the integrated technology, the television provides wireless connection for high-definition (HD) video content, plus it allows photo-sharing and slide show formation that features crystal-clear and sharp images.
The television also allows users to play music wirelessly via 3D-surround technology and 5.1 virtual surround system provided by two audio speakers. For people who want to purchase this television, they must realize that media service requires subscription fee and additional hardware is needed to utilize some features of Window Vista.
