The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a trading event that was held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a much-awaited event where new and old electronic products are introduced to audience mostly composed of people from media, celebrities, gadget experts, and other notable personalities.
Considered as one of the most prestigious technology-related shows in the US, the CES has an exclusive audience and is not open to the general public.
During the event, there are many innovative and recently introduced gadgets and technologies that were competing to impress the crowd, but the Panasonic’s Monster 150-inch Plasma High Definition Television (HDTV) had surpassed the others.
The largest model in the world, the Panasonic HDTV has broken the current record holder by a margin of 47 inches (which also happened to be a product made by Panasonic). This latest Panasonic model was designed by Matsushita. The Panasonic HDTV offers a whopping 2,000-by-4,000 pixel resolution (a total of 2 million) and boasting a 3001:1 contrast ratio; this HDTV has surpassed the resolution of its previous 103-inch model.
The 150-inch plasma TV, dubbed as “Life Screen,” is now the largest in the world, measuring a total of 11 feet wide, or the size of nine 50-inch plasma TVs.
The large-screen TV was designed especially for digital cinema viewing and commercial installations. Perhaps, this might also be found in some homes of wealthy people who can afford to pay the insurmountable price of this HDTV.
The Panasonic 150-inch plasma HDTV will be made available to the public next year. It’s capable of an amazing picture that is four times the resolution of the current full HD plasma displays.
In 2007, the Panasonic sold 3,000 of the 103-inch plasma TVs. This high-acceptance from the market prompted the company to construct its 5th industrial plant in Amagasaki, Japan.
The price of the Panasonic 150-inch HDTV is expected to reach a cost of more than $100,000.
