Canon, one of the world’s leaders in digital SLR technology, has unveiled the latest in its long line of EF-series lenses called Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM which aims to give its users maximum clarity in every shot.
The EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM features 13 element, 10 group lenses, two high refraction glass elements, and two UD Lens Elements, all of which bring out colors in every images shot in its natural state. This set of lenses can literally give photographers a “what-you-see-is-what-you get” shot.
Unlike its predecessor, the newest lenses from Canon give out an extremely fast aperture setting with its f/1.4 aperture, which is perfect for sports and other fast moving scenes. This particular feature is best for the Canon’s full frame 35mm Digital SLR, the standard setting in most of the company’s camera line-up.
The camera can also be called an engineering triumph with its Sub Wavelength structure Coating (SWC) technology. This coating feature can significantly reduce noise and flare that was a result of a secondary reflection that was captured by the sensor surface and elements of the lens. The special coating is applied with laser-guided precision to the inside of the front lens’ structure.
Meanwhile, Canon also makes sure that the lenses come in lead-free to pass the international quality test standards.
Another impressive quality of these lenses is the 0.17x maximum magnification and the rear focus method with floating mechanism. These features provide photographers the widest image quality from all sides of the focal point.
With the superior engineering put into place, the new lenses can withstand even the harshest environment whether shooting in the rain or in the middle of the dessert. Photographers will no longer need to worry about water droplets and dusts sipping to the inside of the lenses.
Photographers can also choose between manual and auto-focus which was made possible by its USM focus motor. This technology goes best with EOS 50D, EOS 5D Mark II, and EOS digital SLRs.
