Canon, a Japanese company which specializes in optical and imaging products, has recently introduced its newest digital SLR from the EOS series called Canon EOS 1000D.
This digital SLR which is also known as “The Rebel X”, features the patented Canon’s DIGIC III Image Processor which provides an impressive 10-megapixel resolution that allows users to take high-quality images with vibrant and more realistic colors.
This model combines the features and functions of EOS 450D and EOS 400D, which makes this perform multiple applications and functions that will allow users to capture great images.
Other impressive features are Noise Free Reduction Technology which provides great pictures even in unfavorable environments and on high sensitive settings; software which allows users to control and adjust the camera’s setting; 3.0 fps shooting mode; EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Kit Lens which provides outstanding Image Stabilization Solution Technology; 2.5-inch LCD screen SD cards; Contrast Detection mode; Vibration Dust Reduction Filter Technology; CMOS sensor; shutter speed of 30 seconds – 1/4000 seconds; Buffer Depth of five RAW and 514 JPEG; and Live View capability.
The model supports both JPEG and RAW formats and uses USB 2.0 connectivity.
While this newest product from EOS series provides Image Stabilization Technology—a feature which is not found on its predecessors—the digital has some drawbacks such as lack of CF slot and no capability to support USB mass storage. Another criticism this particular model is the cumbersome design (measuring 126.1 x 97.5 x 61.9 mm) which may interfere to the user’s grip.
Upon purchase, this camera provides IFC Interface cable, VC100 Video cable, LC-E5 battery charger, LP-E5 battery pack, EOS Digital Image Solution disk, EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens, EF eye cup, EW-100DBII Wide Strap, and user manual.
