Canon EOS 500D is a digital-SLR that features advanced image technologies ideal professional photographers in addition to its auto modes which can assist amateur users in taking crisp and vivid shots.
This SLR, which boasts 15.1 megapixel, has an exposure control features that will allow users to capture dramatic images. One of these includes the high ISO for accommodating subjects in low light conditions; ranging from 3,200 to 12,800 ISO, photographers can capture images in difficult lighting condition in which using a flash may reduce the “warm tone” and shadows.
Another impressive feature is the 3.4fps shooting speed while capturing pictures up to 170 JPEG mode. With this technology, users will not miss a succession of important scenes.
To accommodate off-center subjects, the SLR has a 9-point AF system which has been equipped with a high sensitivity cross-type sensor.
Another notable feature is the chassis with dust-proof design in addition with the camera’s built-in sensor cleaning mechanism. This SLR also comes with Digital Photo Professional software that can remove dust spots inside the camera.
Aside from capturing still photos, this SLR also has the ability to record HD videos (1,080p). However, if users want to restore more videos, they can reduce the resolution to 720p or VGA resolution. There is also an HDMI connection that allows users to show their videos in HDTV or larger monitor.
Meanwhile, the LCD screen, which measures 3-inch diagonally, can support 920,000 dots to make the images appear vivid and real-life. The screen also features real-time visual feed that will allow users to shoot from awkward angles.
To support all these features, EOS 500D uses DIGIC 4 processor that allows the camera to support natural-looking colors, smooth gradations, and noise reduction technology (this latter feature allows faster startup and higher ISO speeds).
In terms of compatibility, this SLR can be used in a wide range of EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series, thus allowing photographers to choose different shooting techniques.
