Computer maker Lenovo recently introduced its newest pc called ThinkCentre M58 which features ThinkVantage Technology which allows this device to minimize its electricity consumption.
This pc, which comes at a starting price of $500, has been specifically designed not just to offer powerful performance but also to provide green features. According to Lenovo’s company website, this model features eco-friendly designs that are complemented by other advanced technologies.
With Power Manager Technology, the pc consumes a low amount of energy since users can program this with shut down mode with a specified time. For instance, when users would like the computer to automatically shut down its system during weekends of evenings, they can program the pc to do so.
For people who need strong security features, the desktop has also been designed to support Hardware Password Manager (HPM) which allows users to have BIOS and HDD passwords to protect their sensitive files and supervisory features. Unlike its predecessors which only provide security at a software level, the M58 offers stronger password management system.
Meanwhile, the HPM software will be made available in April next year (this is sold separately).
And unlike previous ThinkCentre models, the M58 performs quieter. This computer’s processor runs eleven percent cooler compared to M57 and six times quieter than its predecessor.
To provide outstanding performance, this desktop supports Intel vPro processing technology (users can choose from its two versions: Core 2 Quad Q9xx0 or Core 2 Duo E8×00).
The M58 has been designed in three forms including Small Form Factor, Ultra Small Form Factor, and Tower.
This particular model from ThinkCentre desktop series has been regarded as a green electronic device by Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool Organization (EPEAT). Apart from this recognition, the M58 has passed the stringent testing made by GREENGUARD Environmental Institute.
This pc comes with a three-year limited warranty. And for those people who are thinking of disposing their Lenovo computers, the company provides a green solution by buying their products from their customers. With this project, carbon footprints will be lessened since the computers will be recycled and reuse.
