With the popularity of netbooks which are the smaller and cheaper version of laptops, Lenovo has started to tap this lucrative market and has recently introduced its latest ultra-portable computer called Skylight which weighs about 2 lbs.
In terms of Internet connectivity, the netbook has web optimized interface which includes 18 preloaded web gadgets such as Roxio CinemaNow for buying and downloading digital movies, and Amazon MP3 for downloading music online.
To further maximize the web browsing experience of users, Skylight has 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi technology that support wireless Internet connection, allowing users to work and enjoy multimedia features anywhere they go.
US consumers who will subscribe to AT&T’s service will receive 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi signal from more than 20,000 spot across the country.
To support multimedia features, optimize power consumption, fast processing, and fast Internet connectivity, the ultra-portable computer uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset platform. This technology is then partnered with 2GB of cloud storage that will allow users to store data online.
However, one major downside of this multimedia device is its relatively low storage memory of 20GB, considered as paltry in the industry where the standard is 60GB or 120GB for netbook models with more advanced features.
When it comes to physical features, this netbook is almost as thin as most smartphones in the market. And in terms of ergonomic design, this clamshell-like computer boasts a full-size keyboard, bigger and more spacious than most netbooks.
In addition, Skylight comes in two vibrant and glossy colors: earth red and lotus blue.
Other features of this computer are 10-inch screen display which can support high definition images, lithium-ion batter which can last up to 10 hours when fully charged, and built-in camera for video conferencing and chatting.
According to the company, Skylight will be available in US by April and will come at a retail price of $499. Meanwhile, this netbook will be sold in Europe and China during the third or fourth quarter of this year.

I really like the look for this netbook and to be honest, I kind of expected the price to be a little more than it is quoted.
It is a little disappointed on the storage but I guess that this is a netbook designed for being on the go rather than storing vast amounts of data.
