Finland—Technology giant Nokia has announced its newest mobile phone product called the Nokia X3 Touch and Type that features touch-sensitive screen and Web browse capability specifically designed for mobile users.

Nokia executive vice preside of mobile phones Mary McDowell said the new product will be introduced in the third quarter, adding that it will at a “lower price” despite its high consumer value.

McDowell said the smartphone is “a combination of the best of both worlds” as it boasts larger touchscreen with clear menus and icons and the traditional 12-button keypad.

The official added that the Nokia X3 has been designed with dedicated function keys that will allow users to “easily access the most important and their most favorite applications such as music, games, messaging, and other entertainment features.”

“Our research has revealed that consumers have become fast one-handed users of cell phones.  With this, we decided to maintain the traditional keypad to allow them chat, SMS, and instant messaging with much ease.”

Technology giant Amazon on Thursday has introduced the two newest versions of Kindle, which is a popular e-book reader, in an effort to compete with Apple’s iPad which has sold more than 3 million units just after three months it was introduced in the US market.

One of the new Kindle versions is priced at $139 and would feature Wi-Fi connectivity that will allow users to download digital books wirelessly as long as there is a Wi-Fi signal.  This is an improvement compared to the previous model which only uses 3G cellular networks.

The other new Kindle model is priced at $189 that also features Wi-Fi connectivity but has more advanced technologies compared to the cheaper version.

As the market is literally flooded with business laptops, HP ProBook 4520s may stand out from the rest with its sturdy and solid casing complemented with features aimed to maximize the work productivity of professionals who can also enjoy a wider computer screen display of 15.6-inch.

Sony Ericsson has recently announced the smallest Android phone called Xperia X10 mini which features a QWERTY keyboard despite its size of 3.2 x 1.9 x 0.63 inch—almost the standard size of a credit card which makes this smartphone extremely portable.

The smartphone features a 2.55-inch touch screen display which is coated with anti-scratch paint.  While relatively smaller than other screens used by some “intelligent” phones, this latest Sony Ericsson product boasts a broad range of multimedia features including a 5-megapixel camera that has video recording and still photo capabilities equipped with geo tagging technology, built-in light, auto focus, and album application that will help users to organize their image files.

Because the phone is using Google Android platform, users can download applications from the Android Market which range from entertainment to business-related media tools.  Such features are then complemented with customizable user interface that will allow people to access their favorite applications.

US networking giant Cisco has recently unveiled its latest tablet computer specifically designed for business users.  This product has been introduced by the company in an effort to compete with Apple iPad which has already sold more than 3 million units three months after it was introduced in the US market.

Cisco’s new product Cius (pronounced “see us”) is using Google’s open-source Android operating system and has a 7-inch screen display that is smaller than iPad’s 9.7-inch panel.

Despite its limited screen display, Cius will have features which are lacking in iPad—a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-mounted HD camera which has been designed to support real-time video and HD video streaming.

According to Cisco, its new product features instant messaging, web browsing through Wi-Fi connective (and eventually 4G Technology), email, and other applications and programs designed to meet the needs of business travelers and professionals.
