Probably one of the most powerful consumer camcorders today is the Canon VIXIA HF M300 that features  1920 x 1080 resolution in video (resulting to full high definition video).  However, its photo recording capability falls short of 3.3 megapixel resolution which may be acceptable because in the first place, this device is used for shooting videos.

Technology giant Apple Inc. has recently unveiled the next-generation iPhone that boasts a 3.5-inch screen with a higher resolution compared to its predecessors, hundreds of additional features, and built-in video editing tools.

During the Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple CEO  Steve Jobs said the iPhone 4, which comes in black and white version, has new features including a front-facing video camera that will allow people to use video-conferencing with another iPhone user.

“We [Apple] are going to take the biggest leap since the original iPhone has been released in the market”, Jobs said in front of thousands of software developers, technology experts, and reporters.

Another notable feature of this new smartphone is the improved battery life which can last 40 percent longer than its predecessors, allowing users to have enjoy a longer talk time.

For consumers who are looking for a multifunction printer for home use, the Kodak ESP 7250 is one of the most ideal units with its relatively affordable price (around $200) and low-cost inks.

The good thing about this printer is that it’s easy to use because of its practical control panel which includes a 2.4-inch colored-LCD and a four-way rocker button to navigate the screen. In addition, the buttons in the panel are clearly labeled that makes it easy even for tech-dummy to use.

Another notable feature is the driver’s photo enhancement features that allow users to improve the image colors. The photo printing technology also includes Kodak’s Pic Flick application for printing photos from iPhone and iPod Touch. However, the photo input tray can only hold 40 sheets of paper—a deal breaker if this printer will be used for a business.

Meanwhile, the printer’s photo speed is relatively faster: about 1.8 print per minute. And when it comes to quality, the result is great but only if a person uses Kodak’s own special paper—but on plain paper, the same image would look yellowish and grainy.

Sony Ericsson Zylo is a mobile phone designed more specifically for music lovers than those web-centric denizens.  It has  music entertainment features which include Walkman player to create a personalized playlist, Shake Control for changing the song, and TrackID which is a technology that tells the title of the song and its artist and album by simply recording just a few seconds of the song.

When it comes to other entertainment features, the phone also has YouTube support which allows users to enjoy video streaming anywhere they go.  In addition with this feature, the phone also has FM radio with RDS and 3D games application.

Just like most mobile phones nowadays, Zylo has a built-in camera with 3.2-megapixel resolution and a paltry 2X digital zoom.  Despite some weak features in the camera, at least is has a video recording capability, Photo Fix to adjust the light balance and contrast of an image, Geo-tagging capability, and Photo Feeds which allows users to access their friends’ photo blogs.

In an effort to compete with other networking-themed phones, Zylo has the ability to support Twitter which is the most popular microblogging site in the US and Facebook which is the world’s largest social site in terms of the number of users.

The device has a modest web features that may not be enough for web-centric users.  But at least it has Google Search application, Web Feeds to receive the latest blogs and news, Web Browser Netfront for full Internet browsing experience, and Bookmarks to quickly access the user’s favorite websites.

Acer Aspire One 523h is a netbook that is not a significant upgrade of its predecessors in Aspire One series.  But with its relatively affordable price (about $299), this may be considered forgivable.

This ultra-portable computer, which runs in Windows 7, features 1GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, 1.67GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, and Intel NM10 chipset, quite acceptable when compared to a standard netbook (but not outstanding).

As a netbook which targets web-centric consumers, the 523h has 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connection and a built-in web camera with microphone.  But just like most netbook, this model also suffers from limited touchpad and keyboard.

According to Acer, its newest device comes in three colors silver, red, and blue/black.  And while the color looks cool to the eyes, the cover paint is prone to scratches and fingerprints—so it is very important for users to be extra careful when using this netbook.  However, it does not mean that the ultra-portable computer is not sturdy, it just so happened that the cover does not meet the consumers’ expectation.
