Eleksen, a research and development company has been working on its latest project called “smart fabrics” that can be made into bags and clothing attire.
This new innovation is seen as a solution to power electrical devices. Here’s how it works: iPods, mobile phones, MP3 players, etc. may be attached to the fabric. People can also control these devices with certain features possessed by these textiles.
This invention is made of pure fabric and consumers can expect that there will be no wires or other hard materials that are included. The ribbon cable that is attached to the electronic control panel which is directly connected to the fabric—this feature design will prevent the textile to crumple and crease while people are moving. So, there is no need to worry that this high-tech fabric will only give discomfort to its users.
The fabric possessed many technological features and innovation that is quite impressive, one of these is the keyboard which uses BlueTooth technology. This feature is highly suitable for electronic devices such as PDAs, mobile phones, MP3 players, and others of the same genre.
This invention might not be user-friendly due to its complicated fabric keys. The use of this fabric requires people to learn how to follow certain instructions to make this product work.
The control panel of this fabric is mapped in software which is highly-designed to this fabric. A control switch located on a plastic control module concludes which side is being shown, and apart from this, it also tells which mapping is appropriate.
Another technological feature is a fabric control system equipped with a small LCD screen display which will allow users to see who’s calling them on their mobile phones; it will also allow them to see their iPod’s music track.
This fabric is expected to be made available to the general public after a couple of years. It is now undergoing further improvements to make it more sellable to the market. This textile can be used in bags, jackets, coats, etc.
