Lenovo ThinkPad is a 13.3-inch laptop that features ultraportable and light-weight design complemented with technologies including a wide array of wireless connectivity that is ideal for professional users and business travelers.
When it comes to the ergonomic design, this computer boasts a keyboard that slightly curved on the side. Aside from its spacious design, the keyboard makes it easy to type as it “clicks” rather than the “rubbery feel” most users are not accustomed to. But unlike models from ThinkPad series, the Edge has no keyboard backlighting which makes it hard to type when it is dark.
Another impressive design is the laptop’s touchpad which is highly sensitive to touch that makes it accurate, smooth, and easy to use.
Because this laptop uses an energy-efficient processor, it has a relatively longer battery life compared to other portable computers in the market today. However, users can still expect that the processor is still powerful enough to support any professional’s needs.
Complementing such feature is the 4GB DDR3 1066 RAM and 7200-rpm hard drive that allow for a quick startup.
One of the most notable features of ThinkPad Edge is its wide array of connectivity technologies which include 802.11b/g/n for fast wireless connection, optional WiMAX and WWAN support, and a built-in 3G mobile broadband equipped with GPS Technology.
Meanwhile, this laptop has three USB 2.0 ports and SD card reader. However, its lack of optical drive may annoy anyone who wants to watch DVD movies using a laptop.
Another downside of ThinkPad Edge is the embedded audio speakers that produce a slightly soft sound, which means that this laptop is not ideal for media playback. This deal-breaker may be forgiven if users will buy this laptop for business purpose and not for media entertainment.
On the other hand, consumers may also think twice by the fact that this laptop is not ideal for gaming and video editing due to its business-focused configuration. However, at least the mobile computer has a decent media consumption and boasts features great for everyday work.
