Computer maker Lenovo recently introduced the latest model from its Y series notebook called Y650 that features advanced mobile technology and multimedia functions.
This 16-inch notebook features widescreen display that is ideal for watching movies as it can support 1366 x 768 resolutions which is enough for 720p videos. To optimize the video and audio quality, users can change the mode to OneKey Theater that will provide a movie-like experience for viewers.
Because the laptop also has GeForce G105M, which is the latest NVIDIA graphic, it can provide impressive cinematography for video games. And since the graphic technology features eight processor cores and 64-bit memory bus, this can perform better than its predecessors GeForce 9200 and 9300.
In terms of audio system, Y650 uses JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater Technology, but because it lacks built-in subwoofer, the bass sound may not appear as perfect compared to other laptops which has subwoofer sound system.
Another notable feature is the intuitive interface including responsive keys, touch-sensitive slide bar, quick-response touchpad designed with wider space, and Desktop Navigation that will allow users to change Windows, programs, and media applications faster and easier.
Since Lenovo has designed the Y650 for mobile users, the notebook is lightweight and slim. Meanwhile, one disadvantage of the physical design is the glossy surface of the case that is very prone to finger prints.
The portable computer also provides multiple security features including OneKey Rescue System that allows users to restore their system in case the computer is attack by a virus or when it crashes. Another security feature is the VeriFace 3.5 with LiveCheck video that allows users to use their face as their password. With all these combined technologies, users’ sensitive files will be protected from unauthorized access.
Other features are: Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium os; wireless LAN; Bluetooth Technology; Media card readers; CD/DVD recordable drive; Hard Drives up to 500 GB; and battery system which can be adjusted to consume the least amount of energy.
