LG Electronics has recently introduced its latest gaming monitor called W63D which has been specifically designed to support 3D images and other features that would maximize the experience of hard-core gamers.
In a statement, the company said the new monitor provides the strongest platform for 3D games and movies because it supports twice the resolution displayed by standard HD screen.
The W63D can support sharp and vivid colors with its 70,000:1 contrast ratio, full HD resolution, and a screen refresh rate of 12 per second. With such features, the company said that “gamers’ dizziness”, a condition in which people see blurry edges which sometimes appear on 3D images, can be avoided.
LG said the gaming monitor boasts a data processing speed of 172Hz per second which can effectively reduce the hazy areas in the videos. In this way, people can watch videos and play games without experiencing the dizziness even in long hours of use.
To complement the crystal-clear images, the W63D features SRS Tru-surround HD which produces sounds which seem to come from the images on screen rather than speakers. This technology is then partnered with optimized bass, different sound settings (for earphones and speakers), clarity even in high frequencies, and clean vocal sounds.
Another notable feature is image technology that can maximize the depth of 3D images, submerging users from life-like graphics.
Meanwhile, the gaming monitor can also support 2D images through its technology called 2D Thru Mode in which gamers can play the video in real time. In this way, they can respond immediately instead of having to wait for the monitor to display several frames.
Further complementing the gaming experience of users is the Tru-Light which is a lighting function that improves the images in high-action scenes.
And because the gaming monitor uses LED technology, it does not consume a lot of energy compared to standard monitors.
