Nokia Eco Sensor Concept

Nokia, the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile phones, has introduced its product called Nokia Eco Sensor Concept which is a device that combines the mobile phone technology and compatible sensing apparatus.

With this mobile device, users can have wireless connection to other people while having updates and news about important environmental issues.  People can also enjoy health information and report that will help them to live a healthier life.  The advantage of using this device is that it allows people to share environmental data and to view other user’s shared information to further increase the social and environmental awareness.

The Eco Sensor is made of two components: the mobile phone device and the wearable sensor that works by analyzing various information which include local weather conditions, health reports, and environmental issues.  This sensing device can be worn either on the wrist or neck strap which is made of solar cells that serve as a power source.

This device features a compact design and internal mechanism which is designed to use energy in a cost-effective method.

Users can choose what type of sensors they would like to have.  For example, a person who chose environmental monitoring is provided with information regarding environment issues and reports.  The user can also receive tips on how to save the environment while promoting sustainable living.

Here are the sensor devices users can utilize: personal trainee, ultraviolet radiation sensor, personal health, motion detector, heart rate monitor, noise level monitor, atmospheric gas-level monitor, temperature sensor, weather monitoring, environmental catastrophe warning and guidance system, humidity sensor, and air pressure sensor.

To further promote sustainable living, the company is developing an alternative power source such as wind or solar power which will serve as an electric source for the Eco Sensor.  The company is also creating a blueprint that will make this device self-powering apparatus which uses low levels of energy.  Another technology being remodeled to accommodate the device is the printed electronics which is seen as a solution to make the internal mechanism smaller which will in turn result to compact mobile phones.
