Nokia has recently unveiled the newest model on the long-line of its flagship N-series which is called N96 that features multimedia technologies that provide impressive entertainment solution.
This device is the perfect companion for people who like to travel a lot and needs entertainment media on their side. With its 2.8-inch QVGA LCD TFT display, users can enjoy their favorite TV shows which come in 16 million colors or 240 x 320 pixels resolution to support high quality images. (This feature is made possible through the device’s built-in antenna that is capable of picking up various frequency ranges.)
The N96 has an operating frequency ranging from the minimum WCDMA2100 to the maximum 1900 MHz (EGPRS). With this technology, users should no longer worry about the frequency setting as the phone automatically switches between modes and bands depending on the location.
Another impressive feature of the N96 is its storage capacity. With a 16GB internal flash memory, users can save up to 12, 000 music files or some 40 hours of videos. Meanwhile, users can also upgrade its memory with the phone’s expandable microSD memory card slot. With this storage capacity, Nokia has also retrofitted the N96 with a 128MB RAM and 256MB system memory to enable the phone to operate without glitch even with all the applications open.
Also, the N96 was fitted with a 950 mAh BL-5F Nokia battery so that users can enjoy a longer talk time and application playback. With this new Nokia battery, users can enjoy up to 230 hours of stand-by time and more than 230 minutes of talk time.
Meanwhile, users can enjoy up to 6 hours of non-stop video playback with N96 which has surpassed the capability of most cell phones. Also, this device allows users with longer music playback up to 14 hours of continuous use.
But one downside of the new N-series phone is its TV playback time which can only last up to 4 hours.
In terms of physical attributes, the N96 is unbelievably lightweight which comes approximately in 125 gram.

I like it – for years Nokia were the leaders in phones then they lost touch a little bit more recently and I prefer the Sony Ericsson models
More recently though they are coming back and I really like the E series and the N96 looks like it will be ideal as the next generation of decent phones.
