The Sony Alpha NEX-C3 is a 16.2-megapixel digital camera that is smaller and lighter than its predecessor despite having an improved resolution and ability to provide impressive images even in low-light environment; this is possible with the removal flash in addition to technologies almost comparable to a D-SLR.

But just like its predecessors, the digital camera has interchangeable lens (18-55mm zoom lens or 16mm pancake prime lens) and pop-up flash.

The 2.4 x 4.4 x 1.3 inches (HWD) camera weighs 9.8 ounces, lighter than most of its rivals with almost the same size and features.  The standard 18-55mm kit zoom lens is almost the same size and weight of D-SLR’s (7 ounces and 2.4 x 2.5-inch body), while the 16mm pancake prime lens weighs just 2.4 ounces.

While most rugged pocket camcorders fall short in terms of video and image quality, the Kodak Playsport Zx5 is quit notable compared to its rivals.  This can be attributed to the improved lens and autofocus (instead of fixed focus lens), allowing the camera to switch modes and refocus automatically to make the subjects clear.

The LexMark Pinnacle Pro901 is a color inkjet multi-media printer which has been designed to print, copy, fax, and scan, making this ideal for home and small office use.  Perhaps one of the most notable about the device is the wireless connectivity that allows users to enjoy any network available today, in addition to Ethernet and USB connections.

To provide great image quality, the monitors are designed with a SmartContrast ratio to make the images more sharp and colors more vibrant, and also allow them to support full HD and offer HDMI.

For graphic artists and professional users, perhaps the 27-inch model is the right choice as this is the widest screen offered by Philips E-Line series, in addition to the fact that it features 1920 x 1080 pixels, allowing it to support the best picture quality possible from any format of HD input signal.

The HTC Status is an Android phone specifically designed for users who want to be always connected with Facebook; in fact, it has a dedicated button that uses the logo of this popular social networking site.  But because of its cheap price ($49), some of its features fall short, especially the 2.6-inch touchscreen wherein windows and images look cramped.

The screen’s resolution of 480 x 320 is not an issue, but its limited size.  Viewing apps such as the Google Maps is relatively challenging, especially the fact that there is no notification telling users to scroll down to see the entire images.  Another downside of the limited screen is that placing photo comment with more than three lines will push the “comment” button below the display panel, unfortunately, UI does not allow scroll downs, forcing users to limit the words they post.

However, this is not a problem if users are replying to a Facebook message, although the downside is that they can only see two lines at a time because the limited screen is already cramped with FB logo, status bars, and other apps.

The Toshiba Thrive computer tablet uses Android 3.1 “Honeycomb” interface, allowing users to enjoy customizable desktops for widgets and shortcuts.  In terms of UI, the device is quite notable not only because it can be customized but also since the icons such as alerts, clocks, and battery level are placed with the convenience of users in mind.

As with most new Android-powered tablets, the Thrive features multi-tasking button on the bottom left of the taskbar, allowing users to easily scroll the list of thumbnails that represent applications.  And to further deliver a better UI, it has two virtual keyboards: the Swype which allows people to type quicker by tracing lines between letters, and the standard Android.

In terms of design, the computer tablet is heavier and thicker than its rivals such as the Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Asus Eee Pad Transformer with its 10.75 x 6.7 x 0.6 inches and 1.6 pounds chassis.  But despite its cumbersome appearance, it has at least rubberized back plate to allow users to grip it with much ease.

While many mobile devices such as computer tablets, smartphones, cell phones, laptops, and electronic organizers have built-in camera designed to support photos and videos, not all of them are designed to project images.  This is what ViewSonic DVP5 Pocket Camcorder Projector exceeds its rivals, particularly the digital cameras.

The touch controls of this camcorder-projector are quite intuitive; in fact, there is a dedicated button for taking photos, shooting videos, and projecting images. Below these controls are keys for menu navigation and adjusting the setting or changing modes.  To use this as a camera or projector, it is held like a Flip Cam.

In terms of performance, the device can capture images up to 8-megapixel resolution and shoot videos up to 720p or 30 frames per second.  Surprisingly, the high-definition videos are somewhat blurry because of the lack of vividness in colors; although the device captures “stronger” colors in outdoor.  Another downside is the difficulty to record fast-moving subjects especially if a user does not have a steady stand.

For hard-core gamers who are looking for widescreen laptop designed to support high resolution, perhaps the Alienware M14x is one of the best deals as it features powerful graphics in addition to impressive sound system, comfortably designed keyboards, and 14-inch display.  But despite its impressive technologies, consumers may be put off with its high price of about $2,200.

Perhaps the most notable feature for gamers is the 14-inch display designed to support a sharp resolution of 1,600 x 900, making the laptop also ideal for watching movies with its deep colors and crisp lines.  To further complement their gaming experience and movie streaming, there are two speakers placed above the keyboard which offer enough bass and mid to high tones.

Gamers would also appreciate the keyboards with backlighting and large keys that provide excellent response when pressed.  In addition, the 3.2 x 1.8 touchpad has no problem accommodating multi-touch gestures with its smooth surface that provides little friction.
