Olympus, the world’s leading manufacturer of digital cameras, recently unveiled the most compact and virtually pocket sized DSLR camera, which also features a revolutionary Live View Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen.
In the land of the digital giants, the 10-megapixel Olympus E420 is fully loaded with features such as the 2.7-inch Live View LCD (an Olympus first), which gives the photographers, whether professionals or beginners, the ability to take shots away from their faces by simply looking at the screen at the back of the camera. The LCD screen gave users wide range of colors as they browse through their photos plus a viewing angle of 176 degree.
Upon taking a picture, the LCD also enables users to take a look at their shots to make the necessary adjustment. Even if the users are in extreme lighting conditions, the Hypercrystal II technology used in making the 2.7-inch LCD helps the photographer view the images clearer.
The DSLR is also unbelievably light, weighing only 13.4 ounces or 380 grams, a whopping 20 to 50 percent less weight than other brands of cameras in the market.
The manufacturers also retrofitted the world’s smallest camera with one of the smallest lens in the market today. This impressive SLR technology was made possible by merging the 0.9-inch thick Zuiko 25mm f2.8 lens, giving the camera an outstanding and dynamic figure. This feature also enable users to finger-glide commands in the camera since their hands fit comfortably in the small equipment.
Another impressive feature of this DSLR is the perfect shot preview being shown in the LCD screen. It’s like an Adobe Photoshop in your camera, the only difference is that the users can already see the effects on the LCD before they even push the shutter button.
To allow people to take more dramatic and beautiful pictures, the camera also features Face Detection Technology which can detect, focus, and lock up to eight different faces.
The E420 is available at a price of $499.99.
