Recon Robotics, a company which specializes in miniaturized robots that feature “intelligent” technology, has recently introduced its latest product called Recon Scout which is a remote controlled robot that provides built-in camera, making this ideal for espionage and counter-terrorism activities.
This robot provides video footage. People can simply throw this to the ground which will turn provide them video feedback to make them see the present situation of the environment. And since this device has been designed with extreme durability to accommodate harsh and hostile environments, this has been used by soldiers and police.
The mobile robot is made of strong alloys which include titanium and aluminium. With this construction, this device can withstand extreme impact and pressure that even throwing this directly from the ground will not damage any part.
In terms of physical design, this device resembles a dumbbell. On each side, this has a wheel made of urethane material allowing this machine to roll to the ground. On the middle of its trunk (this is made of aircraft titanium shell), there is the video camera, two antennas, and stabilizing tail system.
This device also includes joystick control for easy navigation and can transmit signals up to 250-feet outdoors or 100-feet indoors (environments which have walls and dividers) which means that the controller can run this video camera device in a much safer distance.
The built-in camera provides black and white image sensor with light sensitive technology which makes this spying mobile video camera ideal in low light environments. Also, its camera system provides 60-degree angle of vertical and horizontal view which allows the controller to see even the most minuscule motions and small objects.
Meanwhile, in terms of speed capacity, the Recon Scout can move with a pace of one foot per second which means that this can cover a 30-foot room within one minute.
Another impressive feature of this device is its small and lightweight design which makes this easy to carry. Weighing approximately 1 lb. and measuring 7-inch long, this can even fit inside pockets.

Now this has to be one of the coolest gadgets I have seen in a while. I cannot think of a reason why I would need one though! I wish I could!
I wonder how noisy the motor is on it?
