Samsung, a company known for its mobile phone products, has recently introduced a digital point-and-shoot camera called ST1000 that features interactive technologies found in PC-like devices such as geo-tagging capability, Wi-Fi Technology, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and DLNA compatibility.

With a geo-tagging feature, this 12-megapixel camera allows users track places they have travelled. And with wireless technologies like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, people can easily share their photos to family and friends without the limit of cables and wires.
Another notable feature is the One Touch Auto Focus that allows people to focus on a subject by simply touching the screen, thus making it easier to select the most ideal focal point. Complementing this technology is the Smart Face Recognition that automatically adjusts the exposure and focus of faces; with this feature, it will also be easier to search for people’s photos in the album without having to look at every single picture.
Just like advanced cameras today, the ST1000 has Dual Image Stabilization that compensates camera shake, thus resulting to blurry-free photos. This technology is then partnered with high sensitivity ISO 3200 which effectively minimizes noise that is common in fast-moving scenes and low-light condition.
To guide novice users, the camera has a new feature called Frame Guide that will allow them to set up any angle of the shot, thus resulting to professional-looking photos.
Another feature that will result to professional-looking images is the Smart Auto that automatically adjusts the shot’s color, motion, brightness, exposure, and surrounding—key elements that will make composition dramatic and clear.
In terms of “intelligent” technology, the camera boasts Smart Gesture User Interface that allows users to access key features by simply tapping the screen or making hand gestures. This feature has been inspired by some interactive phones of Samsung.
Meanwhile, the camera has also a HDMI video support for high-definition images complemented with high-quality sounds. And to support more videos without compromising the storage capability, the camera uses H.264 format which allows users to record four times more than in MJPG format.
Other features are Trash Bin which saves deleted photos; 3.5 LCD Touch Screen; and 5x Optical Zoom.
