Sanyo recently introduced its latest product called VPC-WH1 which is a waterproof digital camera that features impressive image technologies that will allow users to capture great pictures.
One of the main highlights of this camera is the waterproof design that will allow people to submerge this device up to 10 feet (3 meters). With this feature, this 2-megapixel camera is ideal in beach or in water sports.
To provide high definition images, the camera has been designed to support 1280 x 720 pixels and 30 fps capability which allows the system to capture impressive pictures even if it is snowing or raining.
The waterproof camera can also serve as a camcorder which can capture high definition images. The video recording capability has also Optical 30x Zoom, 3D DNR noise-reducing function,
and HDMI technology for transmitting uncompressed digital data which is ideal for recording moving images. With this combined technologies, the camera can support high quality videos.
Another impressive feature is the “intelligent” technologies including Face Chaser which can detect up to 12 faces (both image and video) and Digital Image Stabilizer that prevents blurred pictures caused by unstable hands or fast moving objects.
To complement the video technologies, the digital camera can support ACC audio format and 48kHZ sampling that will provide impressive sound quality. Meanwhile, the device also has a built-in microphone and stereo which has been designed to capture clear and crisp sound.
When tested, the VPC-WH1 can last more than three hours of video recording and 570 minutes of playback. This capability is impressive since the device has a longer battery life compared to most cameras today. Meanwhile, it uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery system and features energy-efficient technology.
Other features are: MPEG support, up to 32GB SDHC Memory Card, SD Memory Card, 1/6 inch CMOS sensor, autofocus, built-in neutral density filter, and USB port 2.0.
Sanyo said the VPC-WH1 digital camera comes at a starting price of $399 and will come in three colors: yellow, white, and blue. Meanwhile, the company has yet to introduce this to the US market.
