Sony’s DSC-WX1 digital camera features 10.8-megapixel image sensor that supports pictures that come in real-life colors and well-detailed lines. And to further improve the image quality, the camera uses G lens that is sensitive to light, and BIONZ image processor that reduces blurry spots.
However, the device’s 5X optical zoom is not as high compared to other high-end cameras which makes it a little bit hard for users to capture their subjects in far distance.
But despite the downside, the DSC-WX1 can capture images up to 10fps which makes this compact camera ideal for shooting fast-moving subjects. Complementing this feature is the gadget’s mechanical shutter that has been designed to reduce distortion during the subsequent shooting of pictures.
To capture high-resolution images even in challenging light condition, the camera has a high ISO up to 3,200 that allows faster shutter speed. And with the AF Technology, users can focus the lens on their subjects which results to dramatic images.
When it comes to intelligent technology, the camera boasts Face Motion Detection that automatically increases the shutter speed if the subject is moving, thus reducing blurry faces and moving objects.
Another intelligent technology is the iAuto mode that automatically recognizes the scenes and lighting conditions to allow the camera to adjust the settings that will result to less blurry area, natural-looking skin tone, and clear images.
In addition, the DSC-WX1 uses iSCN mode that can detect eight different types of scenes, in a matter of 1/30th of a second, to allow the camera to adjust to the most appropriate settings such as Twilight, Twilight with tripod, Twilight Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Portrait, Backlight, and Backlight Portrait.
Just like most Sony cameras today, the DSC-WX1 has a Smile Shutter Technology that has a “child” and “adult” priority. This means that the camera can optimize its setting after detecting a smiling person, thus resulting to dramatic portrait even in challenging conditions (such as low-light background).
Another impressive feature is the camera’s high-definition video recording capability (720p). In addition, the camera can record up to 29 minutes (or 2GB) HD video that comes in MPEG format.
