Just a few years ago, a gaming console only has one purpose: to provide video games to users. However, this has changed with the introduction of gaming devices that support multimedia capabilities and interactive features.
One of the latest gaming devices that boasts advanced multimedia features is Sony PlayStation 3 that support DLNA Technology which allows users to access music, photos, and videos from their computers, digital cameras, and other compatible devices.
To provide users with the latest and most-anticipated games, Sony has made partnership with major video game companies. In addition to this, the technology company also allows users to download games from its PlayStation Network.
Meanwhile, users can also enjoy free online games through PlayStation Network which allows them to find other players and challenge them in a competition. With this feature, they can also send messages with other players, join video chat with up to six players, and use voice chat for real-time communication.
Users can also visit PlayStation Store where they can play free demos, purchase new games, and watch and download high-definition movies and game trailers.
Aside from its gaming features, this device also supports music capability as it can play CDs, transfer music files to its hard disk drive (or USB device), and connect to the Internet to see details about a certain song.
In addition, this gaming device, which is a slimmer version of PlayStation 2, also provides a full 7.1 surround sound that will maximize the gaming experience of users.
Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 allows users to watch Blu-ray disc or DVDs and connect to compatible storage devices and cameras to watch videos. And with a massive hard disk drive, people can save even high-definition videos up to 1080p.
In terms of digital image support, the gaming console can also save photos even in slideshow format and with a music background. In addition, the device also allows users to customize their PlayStation screen by using their favorite photos as their wallpaper.
PlayStation 3 comes at a retail price of $350.

I really like the fact this has bluray but I still believe the Xbox is a better gaming experience and better value for money.
I also find the navigation sluggish when compared to the 360
