While most consumers were anticipating the release of the iPhone 5, many were surprised when Apple instead released the iPhone 4S. While this new release does resemble the previous model somewhat this iPhone version is definitely a new device altogether. The new version features changes in the internal design as well as with the software it uses.
The iPhone 4S comes in six distinct models. The colours it is available in are black and white. These colours each come in three different sizes. There is a 16 GB model, a 32 GB model and a 64 GB model. This array of storage size makes it much easier for users to get the appropriate amount of storage to fit their needs.
The camera feature has been improved with the iPhone 4S. It offers a rear facing camera that has an overall resolution of 8 megapixels. The previous iPhone 4 only offered 5 megapixels. The custom lens of this new camera is also a step up from the previous iPhone. It also has a wider f/2.4 aperture. This helps emit more light when improves picture quality especially when in lowlight settings. So good is this camera that Apple claims an 8.5 by 11 inch photo can be printed from the iPhone 4S with no distortions.
Many wonder why Apple choose to go with the name iPhone 4S rather than iPhone 5. Many point back to the previous upgrades of the iPhone as an explanation. When the iPhone 3G was enhanced two years ago, Apple chooses to add on an S rather than change the name is iPhone 4. This was in part due to the fact that little changed on the phone’s exterior. Rather the changes occurred in the internal workings of the device. Again, this is the situation when going from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S. The significant changes again occurred within the internal design.
At retailers like Phones 4 U the device is available as part of a wide range of mobile phone contracts; one look at the iPhone 4S and you’ll see why it’s such a popular choice!
