Last year, computer maker Toshiba has released NB200 netbook which is arguably one of the most powerful ultraportable laptops in the market today as it features technologies that are designed for professional and web-centric users.
As a mini-computer, this device weighs less than 3 lbs. which makes it easy to carry around. But despite its small size and lightweight design, this netbook uses 160GB HDD and 1GB DDR2 memory.
Because netbooks are designed for web-centric and mobile users, the NB200 has a built-in Wi-Fi which can detect Internet signal which is usually provided in libraries, cafes, restaurants, malls, and other business establishments. Also, the computer has BlueTooth Technology and 3G mobile broadband for wireless connectivity.
Meanwhile, the battery system of this netbook can last up to nine hours when consumers will only use simple applications like web-browsing and word documents (without sounds and videos). However, this is considered relatively longer battery life compared to other netbooks; perhaps because it uses a 10.1-inch LED display which is energy-efficient.
Another impressive feature is the USB Sleep-and-charge ports that allow users to charge their gadgets even if the netbook is turned off.
To safeguard the sensitive data and documents of users, the netbook features Hard Drive Impact Sensor which is a technology that protects the storage file in case a person suddenly drops the computer.
When it comes to ergonomic design, the NB200 boasts a full-sized keyboard and wide touchpad for easy typing and convenient control. Such spacious design is impressive given the fact that most netbooks (especially older models) suffer from limited keyboard and touchpad.
Because netbooks have no optical drive, it would be advisable to purchase Toshiba USB portable DVD SuperMulti Drive.
The NB200, which uses Windows 7 OS, is priced at $400 and comes in different colors including posh pink, sable brown, royal blue, frost white, and onyx black.
