Probably one of the most powerful consumer camcorders today is the Canon VIXIA HF M300 that features 1920 x 1080 resolution in video (resulting to full high definition video). However, its photo recording capability falls short of 3.3 megapixel resolution which may be acceptable because in the first place, this device is used for shooting videos.
To capture vivid images particularly the blue and purple tones, the camcorder uses DIGIC DV III Image Processor. In addition, this technology can support 24mbps to make the video recording as fluid and vivid as possible.
Another notable technology is the SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization which can compensate camera shake caused by unsteady hands and shooting while walking. This feature is then complemented with Powered IS which can be used by pressing longer the Powered IS button on the LCD touchscreen.
To achieve the best focus, the camcorder uses a feature called Focus Assist that works by providing two times the magnification of the subject resulting to a sharp, vivid images. This technology is then partnered with Instant AF Focus System for improved autofocus speed and accuracy.
Just like most advance camcorders in the market today, the VIXIA HF M300 uses an intelligent technology in order to detect and analyze the brightness, faces, movement, color, exposure, and distance. In this way, the camcorder can automatically select the best shooting modes and frames resulting to impressive video recording.
One of the most intelligent technologies used by VIXIA HF M300 is the Face Detection feature that can track up to 35 faces and set the best exposure. Another notable intelligent technology is the Advanced Video Snapshot which allows users to capture the highlights.
In an attempt to simulate the “film-look”, the VIXIA HF M300 has a feature called 24p Cinema Mode which enables users to capture a frame rate of 24p (recorded at 60i) which is the same rate used by professional movie makers.
For those who are into water photography, this camcorder is compatible with Canon’s WP-V2 Waterproof Case which features direct control buttons.

I got this VIXIA for a month and would recommend this to anyone. It comes with a pros like easy to use, good image stabilization, great sound, great zoom, large clear LCD but it’s quite poor in low light.
