Dell has recently announced its newest line of consumer laptops which included the Vostro A90.
The company was confident that their new line of Dell Precision laptops would take the company’s sale soaring, especially this particular model.
Meanwhile, the A90 is typically an Inspiron Mini 9 only with different bright color options. The laptop, which was “engineered” for small- to medium-scale businesses, is one of the company’s ultra-portable and lightest laptops. But it is not one of the most powerful in its time.
Actually, the new A90 is a bit disappointing when it comes to its specs. For a small business computer, this device is a bit slow. It can only offer its users up to 1GB of memory. Storage capacity was also sacrificed with only 8GB of data that can be save in its solid-state drive, a bit low for consumers who demands faster processing.
Some critiques said that the company thinks that it can get away with the new A90 which seems to possess the same specs of Inspiron Mini 9, adding that some consumers might think that Dell only wanted to live up with the untarnished reputation of its Latitude Series which can offer up to 19 hours of battery life.
In order for the company to continue its legacy, the new Vostro A90 was retrofitted with a standard 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, which can also be found in the Mini 9, just to minimized power consumption.
If the company wanted to maintain its competitiveness and goal priorities, the company should come up something better than the A90’s 8.9-inch, 1024×600 display.
The new Vostro A90 is only available in Window XP. Between this device and the cheaper Inspiron Mini 9, users may easily decide what to pick in the shelves.
This was another oversight committed by Dell when they release the product in Japan, the much cheaper Linux operated Mini 9 can easily be mistaken for the A90.
The new Vostro A90 comes in a starting price of $972.
