The Maxtor hard drive is designed to provide reliable backup system which can retrieve important data in case the computer had experienced failure or crash. This can also protect and recover information in case there is a water or fire accident. Another impressive feature of this device is that it provides a special casing which protects it from dust and dirt build-up.
Other features are USB 2.0 bus powered, USB Y-Cable, recovery support program which can retrieve important data in case there is a water or fire accident, security system which includes data encryption and password protection, LED power indicator light system, durable high gloss silver finish, and special backup software.
The sealed 160GB hard drive has an exterior dimension of 19.5 cm tall, 11.4 cm wide, and 11.5 cm diameter, and weighs a total of 10.9 lbs (5 kg.).
The hard drive has been verified with ETL waterproof and has been tested to withstand 1 and a half hours of extreme temperature which can reach for up to 1550 °F. PC requirements for this hard drive are Microsoft XP Home, Professional and Media Center Edition; Pentium III, 500 Mhz equivalent processor or higher Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic, Home; Internet connection for software updates; SafetydDrill full PC recovery; and 256 MB RAM or more as required by operating system -CD ROM drive. Meanwhile, for Macintosh computers, the requirements are Mac OS X 10.4.7-10.4.9; Internet connection for software updates; and 256MB RAM or more as required by operating system.
In case that the hard drive has failed to provide its main functions and features, the company will retrieve their customers’ data (free of any charge) and provide them with a brand new unit.
